What is Fraud Blocker? A Google Ads click fraud filter explained, with what it does and what it leaves to you

What is Fraud Blocker? A plain explanation of the Google Ads and Meta Ads click fraud tool: how it works, what it detects, and what it is not.

Quick answerFraud Blocker is a service that fights click fraud on Google Ads and Meta Ads. A tracking tag watches your website visits, and the service sends suspect IP addresses to your connected ad accounts as exclusions. It is not a phone, text or spam-call blocker, and it cannot promise to catch every bad click.

What is Fraud Blocker? A click fraud filter for ad accounts

Fraud Blocker is software that targets click fraud on Google Ads and Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram). The name also suggests a consumer scam-call or spam blocker, and that is a different kind of product. Fraud Blocker works on the clicks your paid ads receive, not on calls or texts to your phone.

Its home page describes it as an all-in-one tool against bots, competitor clicks, fake leads and other wasted ad spend. This explanation reads the vendor's pages and terms as of October 24, 2026, and sets them beside Google's documentation.

How Fraud Blocker works in four steps

  • Place the tag: you add the vendor's detection pixel to your website.
  • Connect ad accounts: you sign in with Google or Facebook and pick the ad accounts to protect, using the networks' own sign-in process.
  • Analyze traffic: the service checks visits against more than 50 signals, such as IP, VPN or Tor use, device fingerprint and location.
  • Exclude sources: suspect IP addresses are sent to your ad accounts in real time, and the list can be exported as a CSV file for other networks.

What the vendor says it catches

The features page names six sources of wasted clicks: bots, click farms, competitors, fake leads, accidental clicks and unhappy customers who click ads. These are the vendor's categories, not an audited list.

For a neutral yardstick, the invalid traffic standards of the MRC, the industry body that accredits ad measurement, split invalid traffic into two groups. General invalid traffic is caught by routine means such as lists and standard checks. Sophisticated invalid traffic needs advanced analytics, corroboration and human review, and includes click farms and hijacked devices. The vendor's AI detection page claims more sophisticated invalid traffic found in a beta period, which is its own measurement.

What else comes with it

  • Email verification, which checks addresses submitted on your lead forms.
  • Visitor data, with more than 50 data points per visitor, and API access.
  • AI-powered reporting for finding trends in your traffic.
  • Agency features, including a white label platform and many websites per account.
  • A conversion tag that is meant to keep valuable customers from being blocked.

Where it runs and who it is built for

The home page says the tag works on any website builder, from WordPress and Elementor to Shopify and Wix. The plan tiles run from one website with a few team members up to unlimited websites and members, which reaches from a single small advertiser to an agency managing client accounts. The vendor's client counts and traffic totals on its pages are its own figures. What matters for a small advertiser is simpler: whether the tag can be added to your site, whether your ad accounts can be connected, and whether your monthly ad clicks fit a plan.

What Fraud Blocker is not

It is not a replacement for Google's own filters. Google says it removes invalid traffic it detects before billing and credits later finds, and that third-party tools often flag traffic Google has already filtered. It is not a guarantee either: the terms say the service cannot be assured to detect all fraudulent behavior and does not promise better ad performance. Fake form submissions are a separate job: Google says its filters cannot stop invalid leads submitted on your own site, and Fraud Blocker sells email verification for lead forms, which its pricing FAQ places in the Pro tier.
