Try Fraud Blocker →What Google already does for free
Google removes invalid traffic found before the end of the billing cycle from your reports and your bill, and credits some it finds later. The Invalid clicks column counts what its filters caught. Google also says tools often flag traffic it already filtered, so a tool's blocked-click count is not the same as money saved. It adds that its filters run after an ad serves, so invalid traffic can still reach your site and lead forms.
IP exclusions and the campaign types that accept them
Fraud Blocker's guide says Search, Display and Standard Shopping campaigns take IP exclusions, and Performance Max, Demand Gen, Smart Shopping, Hotel, Video and App campaigns do not. Fraud Blocker states a limit of 500 IP addresses per campaign, ClickGuard says the same, and ClickCease cites a 500-address list limit. Google's developer documentation confirms that an IP block can sit at campaign level and at account (customer) level.
Fraud Blocker's guide gives the steps: campaign Settings, Additional settings, IP exclusions, Save. Google notes that one IP address is not always one device. Fraud Blocker fills all 500 slots, so copy a hand-made list into its IP Blacklists.
Fraud Blocker's help center lists more campaign types as supported than its IP-exclusion guide allows, and the Fraud Blocker Google Ads page gives both lists.
Performance Max, Display and Shopping
Fraud Blocker's newer Performance Max article says account-level IP exclusions now apply to Performance Max, while campaign-level ones are still unavailable there. Another Fraud Blocker article says, as the vendor's own view, that if most of your spend sits in Display or Performance Max, your risk profile is much higher.
ClickGuard's home page names Search, Display, Shopping, Video, Discovery and Performance Max, and its help center describes Shopping protection through IP and IP range exclusion rules. TrafficGuard's Performance Max Shield is part of its custom plan, not Shield at $49 a month.
Sizing a Google Ads tool to your clicks or spend
Fraud Blocker sizes by ad clicks, the paid clicks on your connected accounts: read yours from the Clicks column in Google Ads, then compare Standard at 5,000 ad clicks with Pro, which starts at 10,000. ClickGuard and TrafficGuard size by monthly ad spend, and ClickCease by total site traffic.
Fraud Blocker's 7-day free trial is on Standard and Pro, and the chosen plan is charged automatically when it ends.
Pick Fraud Blocker when blocks should land in your Google Ads exclusion lists and you know your ad clicks. Pick ClickGuard when Shopping and Performance Max should be named on the plan, and ask TrafficGuard about its custom plan for Performance Max Shield. How to block IP address in Google Ads covers the manual steps, and best click fraud protection software groups the tools by meter.
