Fraud Blocker Google Ads setup: connection, IP exclusions and campaign types

Last reviewed October 24, 2026

Quick answerFraud Blocker connects to Google Ads by OAuth and manages only your IP exclusion lists, adding bad IPs in near real time; its guide says Performance Max takes account-level ones only. ClickGuard adds Microsoft Ads.

Fraud Blocker Google Ads setup: the pixel and the OAuth connection

Fraud Blocker sets up Google Ads click fraud protection in two steps: a tracking pixel on your website, then a connection to your Google Ads account through Google's own OAuth sign-in. Every plan connects Google Ads, from Standard at $79 a month on monthly billing for 5,000 ad clicks, the paid clicks on ads in the accounts you connect.

The pixel goes just after the opening head tag on every page that receives ad traffic. In the dashboard's Set up section, choose Sign in with Google and tick the opt-in box that lets Fraud Blocker update your IP exclusions. Allow up to 1 hour for the install check.

What Fraud Blocker changes in your Google Ads account

Fraud Blocker says it changes nothing except your campaigns' IP exclusion lists. It adds the addresses it judges invalid in near real time, and the same bad IPs show in the account-level list under Admin, then Account Settings. Every update appears in Change history.

Fraud Blocker says Google Ads allows 500 IP exclusions per campaign and that it fills all of them. Copy any list you made by hand into its IP Blacklist. The manual route is in how to block an IP address in Google Ads.

Which Google Ads campaign types Fraud Blocker can reach

Fraud Blocker's IP-exclusion guide says Search, Display and Standard Shopping campaigns take IP exclusions, while Performance Max, Demand Gen, Video and App campaigns do not. Its newer Performance Max article says account-level exclusions now apply to Performance Max, and campaign-level ones are still unavailable there.

Fraud Blocker's help center lists Performance Max, Demand Gen, Hotel and Video campaigns among those it supports, while its guides say those types take no campaign-level IP exclusions, so ask Fraud Blocker what it does on those campaign types before you rely on it. How to tell whether Fraud Blocker is working in Google Ads

Fraud Blocker says the invalid activity Google detects should drop once it is enabled, likely but not guaranteed, and that Google often shifts campaigns to new sources. To watch it, add Google's Invalid clicks column to the Campaigns table. Google says a higher count there means its own defenses are working.

Fraud Blocker's data-freshness article gives the delay of its reports as both up to 30 minutes and about 60 minutes, while it says blocking itself is near real time.

Fraud Blocker plan sizing for a Google Ads account

Count ad clicks from your Google Ads Clicks column. Pro starts at 10,000 ad clicks at $99 a month on monthly billing. At the limit the service pauses until your next billing cycle unless you upgrade. Fraud Blocker says it charges only for traffic from Google Ads, though it monitors all your web traffic.

Standard and Pro both include Google Ads protection, and both open with a 7-day free trial that bills the chosen plan automatically. See the Fraud Blocker review for features. Pick ClickGuard instead if Microsoft Ads must be blocked too: its Standard plan lists Google, Meta and Microsoft Ads, but ask it how its Microsoft Ads exclusions work.
