Is click fraud protection worth it: count what Google already does
Click fraud protection can be worth it for some Google Ads accounts, but only after you count the invalid clicks Google already removes and credits at no charge. Google removes invalid traffic before billing, credits more it finds after the invoice and never charges for invalid clicks.
A higher Invalid clicks count means Google's defenses are working, and many filtered clicks can sit beside small credits in billing. Google also says third-party tools often flag traffic it has already filtered, so a tool's blocked-click count is not money saved. How to stop click fraud Google Ads covers the free fixes first.

Try Fraud Blocker →Does click fraud protection work: what the vendors concede
Fraud Blocker's terms say it cannot guarantee that its service detects or prevents all instances of fraudulent behavior, and that it does not guarantee better advertising performance. Its help center says a drop in invalid activity in Google Ads is likely but not guaranteed, and that the dashboard Savings figure is an estimate.
Its own article names a vendor conflict of interest: the business model rests on finding fraud, which creates an incentive to flag borderline traffic. It also calls its figures first-party data rather than independent research. So Fraud Blocker is a real subscription with stated limits, and every performance figure on its pages is its own.
When a tool tends to pay, in the vendor's own words
Fraud Blocker says protection is usually unnecessary for small, tightly controlled search campaigns in low-fraud niches. It says protection is typically worth it for advertisers who spend "$3,000 to 5,000+/month", compete in high-CPC verticals or run display-heavy campaigns. It adds that the risk profile is much higher when most spend sits in Display or Performance Max.
A store spending $12,000 a month, mostly on Performance Max, clears that spend mark, and the vendor would call its risk profile much higher. That is one vendor's view, not an independent threshold.
A fair test: baseline first, then a trial
Fraud Blocker's article says to pull 30 to 60 days of campaign data first. Record the invalid interaction count and rate, click-through rate by campaign and ad group, conversion rate, cost per conversion, and bounce rate, session duration and pages per session for paid traffic in Google Analytics. After activation, compare against that baseline and watch the invalid activity Google detects, which Fraud Blocker expects to drop. It adds that this is not an exact science.
Fraud Blocker's Standard plan, $79 a month on monthly billing for 5,000 ad clicks (the paid clicks on ads in your connected accounts), comes with a 7-day free trial that lets you set its click report beside your own baseline. What a trial costs if you forget to cancel
Fraud Blocker's trial is usually 7 days, and the real length shows in your account dashboard. When it ends, the chosen plan is charged automatically using the payment information you entered, so cancel before then to avoid the charge. As read on October 24, 2026, Standard is $79 a month on monthly billing for 5,000 ad clicks, and Pro starts at $99 a month on monthly billing for 10,000 ad clicks. Taxes are extra.
On the same date, TrafficGuard's Shield plan was $49 a month, billed monthly, for up to $30,000 a month of ad spend on one Google Search domain, and its page marks that a limited promo price. Its 30-day trial needs a credit card, charges nothing for 30 days and runs in detection mode only, so nothing is blocked.
The meters differ, ad clicks against ad spend, so these are not one price comparison. Click fraud protection cost sizes tools by volume.
